Getting Pickled since 2015
Mark Sargeant and Josh De Haan, owners of The Pickled Egg Pub Company, run a distinctive collection of bars and restaurants — including the acclaimed Rocksalt in Folkestone.

In 2019, they added four historic Kentish pubs to their portfolio: The Five Bells Inn at Brabourne, The Radnor Arms in Folkestone, The Woolpack Inn at Warehorne, and The Duke William in Ickham. Each has a strong local identity, but together they needed a brand that could bring them under one name without losing their individual charm.

We were asked to create an identity that felt fitting for these superb historic establishments — something that recognised their character and heritage, while feeling at home in today’s pub landscape.
Our solution began with a core brand for The Pickled Egg, then extended to individual identities for each pub — inspired by their history and character, but designed to feel fresh and distinctive, while clearly part of the same family.











Simpler versions were created for smaller use such as menus and social media. Linear versions were also created.
